Life Lately – Home, Anxiety & Everything Else!

life lately

Phew child!! Where have you been? Where have I been? What’s up with life lately? The past few months have been a whirlwind and I’m barely touching ground again. Overall things have been going pretty swell over here except for a couple things here and there.

My anxiety is still a force to be reckoned with but I’m working on it. It’s really still a struggle handling some hurdles and a few otherwise mundane daily tasks but I’m getting a hold of it and that’s what I’m focusing on. It’s hard accepting the fact that you’re not quite like everyone else. Knowing that dealing with a situation, dealing with life really, is going to be different for you, is not an easy one to swallow. It’s taken me a while, but I’m accepting that we’re all different in our own little ways and I’m giving myself a break.

Our house is coming along nicely and one day I’d think about doing a little house tour. I’ve gotten into vlogging and I’m feeling all YouTuber-ish these days. Lol! It’s still a bit iffy for me but I really wanna share! And y’all know, I am SO excited for Christmas. That is my time (just in case you couldn’t tell)!!. I’m going with a neutral and earth tone color scheme this year and I’ve already started getting things in place. Is it too early? I sure hope not because I’m so ready! Our first Christmas in our new home? Hell yes! Now you know I aim to be as minimal as it gets but a girl is struggling here. I want ALL the tinsels! Is this too much?

I’m focusing a lot more on my writing. Outside of the blog that is. I really want to spread my wings and eventually, have this work for me. Having a flexible work situation is really shining in my eyes right now. Writing is one of my many many loves and holds a special place in my heart. Cheesy? Sure. Exaggerated? Not in any way.

What else is there going on? I’ve got no more travels planned for the year (can you imagine?) due to a shift in focus.

There’s been a lot of rain and flooding around these parts but I’m safe and dry. Keeping those affected in my thoughts and prayers and really hoping for the best.

Sean mentioned getting a puppy (or three) and I am beyond excited. A couple things holding me back though. 1. The puppy needs a friend, sister or brother because we both work full time and we don’t want them to be lonely. Sean works from home a lot so they’ll have him but still. 2. I need to make sure I have the time and energy and commitment to house train them and for you dog folk, you KNOW that that is a whole job in itself. And finally, the cost. Pets are an additional family member. They need to eat, sleep and breathe just as good as you. That’s not cheap! I’m banking y’all, I’m banking. But umm, I can’t think of the names. I’m thinking Bob and Linda. Anyone else loves Bob’s Burgers?

So what breed do you think I should get? I love Frenchies but they’re not the healthiest or the most ethically bred so we start over. For me, they must be small, lazy like me and love cuddles!

Who are your favorite furries?

Thanks for stopping by!

PS ! The best wedding and some apps I’m loving right now.

  1. How exciting y’all might be getting a dog! I just adopted a cat this month- it’s been more work than I thought, but very fun!

  2. “It’s hard accepting the fact that you’re not quite like everyone else”. I couldn’t relate to this sentence more than I do. Love your blog, definitely going to be keeping up!

  3. Love this post, i’ll try yorkies or Maltese/Shin Hzu!! Those are the smallest and cutest breeds, mostly obsessed with cuddles and love.

  4. How do you like YouTube?

  5. I love life lately posts (I think I need to do one myself) because I just love hearing about life behind the blog. I’m so excited to hear you’re going to start vlogging! That’s something I’d love to do but I don’t even know where to begin. I can’t believe the holiday season is around the corner, but a puppy would make a wonderful gift to each other! We don’t have a dog yet for those EXACT reasons that you mentioned for your household! I always think when we do get one, we’ll have to get a second. And the MONEY. Whew. I hear about unexpected vet bills and am so thankful I get to spend that kind of money on travels. Lol, but when we do get a dog, eventually, we’ll have to go with something hypoallergenic. My husband is very allergic, but he loves them so much. I also think rescue dogs have some of the biggest hearts! Keep us updated!

  6. Anxiety is no joke! Once I think I got it under control something comes crashing down and the panic attacks and the “mess” start again. We will get through is what I keep telling myself. As for dogs, I am more of a big puppy kid of girl. I have two labs they are loves and think they are lap dogs, they keep me really warm at night hahaha. On the plus side, petting dogs have been proven to help calm anxiety and help calm a person!

  7. Very excited for your new addition – a dog! Why don’t you check out a local shelter and help some little dogs in need of a new home? Can’t wait to hear what you decide to do!
