Ah Mother’s Day! I use to only think of my mom and aunts for Mother’s Day until my siblings and friends began having babies themselves. From then on my concept of Mother’s Day changed forever (a little dramatic there but you get my point). Because guess what, there are different types of moms with different types of wants and it’s time we get away from the flowers, chocolates and a greeting card kinda gift.
And as you know, I prefer to gift items that are practical and adds value to the giftees’ life. And let’s face it, a bar of chocolate ain’t doing that. So here are three gift items I know any mom would love, especially ones who seem to already have everything! Trust me, those are the hardest to shop for!
A Water Pillow
These pillows are ideal for the new mom as these fluffs are filled with hypoallergenic comforted micro fiber polyester and are supported by Mediflow’s original water-base system. What I love about these is that you control the support you need by adding and removing water as you see fit. This water-based system has been clinically shown to improve sleep by decreasing the occurrence of neck pain and in my case, constant waking up in the middle of the night to fluff and toss my pillow. You really feel as though you’re sleeping on a cloud (I think I’ve boasted about this way too much). ~ $59.99 ~
A Sturdy Pair of Sunglasses
Listen, we could talk about why moms and just about anyone should wear sunglasses for millennia but lets get straight to the point here. They’re fashionable, shields your eyes from the sun which prevents you from stressing your face and eyes through squinting and last but definitely not least, they hide those pesky dark circles or puffy eyes when you’re just not in the mood for concealer. I get all of mine from Sunglass Warehouse because in this instance, you can get quantity AND quality. They’re fun, stylish, sturdy and matches budgets all-round. Most of mine are under $15! ~ under $20 ~
A Beautiful Illustration
Recently I got an illustration of hubbs and me and I thought what an amazing gift this would make! Especially for moms who seem to have everything! I spied Jessica Woodhouse’s Instagram page and seen that she has done a ton for families! And they are so so precious. It’s such a fun process too. You send a couple photos and say the vibe you want the illustration to capture. And there you have it! A lovely out of the box gift perfect for Mother’s Day.
What Mother’s Day gift do you have in mind for this year?
